Playing House

I've always wanted to add a sculptural element to my work.  Seeing as how my paintings focus on mid-century architecture, it only seemed fitting that my first 3-D piece I create be an architectural model.  I started with some ideas I had for a classic Modern house and sketched out some rough drafts.  I then finalized a ground plan and did some rough elevations before diving into the world of balsa wood.  This piece will make its debut at the Laguna Art Museum on May 10th, 2013.

Hello Again

Last February, I had the pleasure of attending an amazing evening of food, drinks, and great conversation with some of the leading artists, designers, and architects in the world.  This evening was put on by Dwell magazine and generously sponsored by Lincoln Motor Co as part of their "Hello Again" campaign.  As part of the evenings activities, interviews were conducted with all the creatives, including Trina Turk, Ghislaine Vinas, and myself.  View the full video here: Modernism Rediscovered.

Hello New York
